Default tinted headlights

i had posted a few weeks ago about doing diy blackhousing headlights. well while looking after everyones, i'd seen a few i liked and a few i didnt, which worried me.

i've realized that i like tinted headlights better like Negativecamber's car. there's pics about 3/4s the way down this page...

https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...9&pagenumber=3

i'm still going to buy a set of used headlights to do this too, i was wondering is it legal, was percentage to use, is it hard, etc.

i have a foglight out so i'll be replacing head and foglights with...streetglow bulbs. will this affect anything as far as being tinted?

Default ctr's

i would do ctr's but dont want to put anymore money into this car than i already have.

its silver with black highlights so i think the tinted would look really nice with my color scheme.

people have blackouts on there cars around here so i dont think its illegal, now that i think about it.

the reason negative camber's doesn't look appealing is b/c he painted the reflectors. mine looks pretty similar in color but turned out a lot different since i masked off the reflectors....

what tint % did you use? was it hard to do without getting bubbles?

when you say you masked off the reflectors, what do you mean?

has this affected your night time vision/driving?

nice work though, see, i'm likin the tint consistantly. i was off and on with the blackhousing.

i just used duplicolor auto gunmetal paint. and no it wasn't hard to do w/o getting bubbles, all i did was clean off the surface w/alcohol then painted it. and followed w/a couple coats of clear coat.

well on 6th gen headlights, after u open the housing, there are 3 pieces: the back half, the actual chrome plate(part that u paint), and the front half(lens). the big reflector that surrounds the main headlight is actually part of the back half, so u don't have to mask it off. all i did was paint that chrome plate. but the reflector for the turn signal is part of the chrome plate. so if u want it to look like mine u have to mask that off so it will still be chrome. and reflect the turn signal as usual.

as far as affecting my night time vision, not at all. even when i had my halogen bulbs it didn't affect it because i didn't touch the reflector. so the light was still as good as stock.

hope it helps ya out! its really a great project. adds a lot of character to your car.
