Default '97 interior light problem

I installed a c.d. player my self. It works fine except for one thing. My interior lights won't come on when I turn on the head lights. All the fuses check out and the wires are all getting power. here's the catch, I (in my stupidity) was confused by over the phone instructions and cut off the clip from the cars wiring harness and spliced on the coresponding wires from the head unit. There is not enough wire on the back of the clip to put it back on. Can I purchase a new clip or will I have to get one from a junk yard? My local Honda shop wants to make me get a whole wiring harness for the entire car! At $50 an hour for labor, I said :madfawk: that. There's gotta be another way. Any ideas?

At the end of the wire that you cut, the wire is inserted into the plastic clip, the wire has a fastner on it which clips to the plastic, pry this out, you can find a new fastner at the local eltronics store. all you have to do is re attach a new metel clip and reinsert it. try not to break the plastic clip. good luck
