Default Wheel Offset??

Getting new rims with taxes!!

Was going to get 17, but the way everyone talks on HAN, i'm going with 16".

This wheel

and falken azenis 215/45/16. Running now nitto 215/40/16. Still have a 2 finger gap all around. The tires is only .7 inches taller, but what offset would i need. What's standard for civic? I think 40.

Offset ideal for civics are either +40mm or +42mm. If you're going for 16's, a good tire size would be 205/45/16's. If you're going for 17's, 205/40/17's.

I can tell you one thing. Those Azenis didn't fit on my car with 16x7.5" wheels 45mm offset and a 1" drop. Everytime I turned it would rub. Rolled the fenders still rubbed. SO I gave up and sold the tires.

If you get a 16x7" wheel with 43mm offset that might work. And you could try a camber kit and dial some more upfront.

Let's see if i understand this right. So 40 is standard. If i go with a 43mm offset, does this push the center hub out to the outer rim. Does it move in the opposite direction, center hub in to the outer rim.

I have a set of 16's with a +37mm offset and the wheels and tires sit flush with the fender. I also have a set of 15" stockers and I think those are a +45mm offset and they kinda sit more inside the wheel well. So I guess the higher the number, the more it sits inside the wheel well.

I have cheap eagle alloys on the car now. 16x7.5. They sit with the very edge of the tire right inside the fender. Does this sound like a 38mm to 40mm offset? Sound like a 42mm offset will work just fine.

Yes the higher the offset the more the wheels get pulled into the center of the car underneath the fenderwells.

The lower the offset the farther out the wheel get pushed out from the center of the car (aka Lowerider look).

Does anyone know if a +37mm offset on a 17x7 wheel good for a civic?
