i dont reallly like 17's for everyday driving. it looks good on your with the body kit/lips all the way around. as far as lowering your car, just do a clearance of 2 fingers in the back and 1 1/2 fingers in the front (distance from wheel and fender). only a suggestion

I've got the same setup as you. If you don't wanna worry about anything, get the Eibach Pro-Kit from Tirerack (best price + fast shipping). It'll drop you like 1.5 in the front and 1.3 in the rear or something like that. Sorry i don't have any pics online, but the fitment is great. Everything looks flush, no tucking. Ummmm, about the shocks, if their in good condition, you don't have to change them, should be fine, but if you want a better setup, go with something a bit more stiffer, or adjustable. Also, learn how to dodge pot holes... you're gonna feel 'em.

Personally I have a 95 coupe I put 17's on and wish I would have went with 16's or 15's. I am dropped on arospeed coilovers and KYB GR-2 shocks and struts.

17's will make for a pretty rough ride, regardless of your suspension setup... but they should fit just fine assuming you've got the right wheel offset. 215mm tires are a bit wide for a civic... go with 205's and you'll have a greater margin of error for lowering.
