Default Questions On Rims (noob)

I have a completly Stock 97 Civic SI (im from canada) and im looking to get set of rims for it. I have heard so many different reasons to get different sizes over others , so i was just wondering if there are any problems with Rubbing with 17's or what problems i could run in to , or should i just get 16's and not worry about problems. Also i know i will have to lower it because it will look like a tank on huge rims with stock springs , so i was also wondering if i should go with Lowering Springs or coil overs which are better , Will it cause any issues with losing power? like speed on take off and stuff? i know nothing about this so any feedback would be great thanks.

Springs won't effect power. Rims will.

go with 16s because they are, imo, the perfect size for speed and handling. Also you won't rub in the fenders.

Springs or coil overs, get coil overs only if you plan to use them or want to be really low.

15's are best if you plan on ever doing any type of racing. You can get away with 16's, but with as little power as the SOHC 1.6 puts out, would you really want to put oversized rims and tires on your car? It'll just slow you down even more, not to mention affect your gas mileage too.

Well you could still rub with 16s with the wrong size tires and offset.

I also recommend 16s since you will have less fitament problems with 16s than 17s. Plus most 17s will just make your car feel sluggish.

I run 15s all the time now, but 16s once in awhile on the street.

Thanks for all your input , pretty much every says to go with 16's , i dont race at all im just going for looks because there are no tracks or any racing at all around my area so i dont really have a need for power i guess. So i think i will get some 16's with Lowering Springs , What are the best springs for quality around a mid range price level. ?
