I agree with most, dyno printout is a must when trying to claim such numbers.

Default What's up?

The SCC isn't a dyno test of the intake, it's just a report from SEMA probably quoting what AEM told them. Turbo dyno'd the same intake on a '99 DX or so and it came out to about 5.x something gains and a decent enough (<4 I think) torque peak. Power rose pretty much throught the power band. The also dyno'd the orignal AEM CAI vs the V2 and it orignal made about 1-2 hp everywhere and the V2 made about 4-5. Pretty impressive gains for a simple mod.

I've alwasys liked SCC and they do a good job testing parts and writing good articles. It's hard to test an intake on a showroom floor though. Seeya.

:werd:

Theyre just telling what they saw, they're not testing it. If/when they test it, you can expect a perfecty objective test.

either way, its probably better than the old one.

It's just a small picture with info about it where they state what AEM claimed. The Turbo magazine test seems more realistic and honestly, 4-5 hp is pretty signfigant for gains from an intake.

Ha ha, speaking of which, that same Turbo got 76 hp from an intake upgrade. Of course it was a Veilside intake manifold with internal velocity stacks and a 100mm throttle body on a turbo MKIV Supra (which was supprising rather stock). Seeya.

WTF is this?

You actually get less power and it decreases from 4000 to 4500 rpm WITH a CAI?
