Default Headlights

My 01 headlights have taken a real beating and are getting foggy. I've wet sanded them before but they keep going back to being foggy even after wet sanding and using Plastix polish. I called Honda and they want $250 for the right light and $230 for the left.

Is it okay to go with OEM replacement lights? $480 for new lights seems kind of steep...

These OEM's are a bit cheaper.

OEM's should be fine. I know a few people that have used them, and they work just as well as the Honda lights. You might look on craigslist in your area and see if anyone is selling anything. I got a slightly used pair for $100.
The eBay Halos are something to be avoided though. I've seen 3 pairs of cheap halos melt.

Make sure to check with local law about aftermarket headlights. I purchased some glass OEM replacements (originals are plastic) with black background and according to Honda it would not pass inspection even though they are same as OEM just black background (which doesn't change light output).

um his honda lights ARE OEM lights. they would be the exact same part number and have the same potential fogging problem

I would get some 2000+ grit sandpaper and wetsnad them till they shine, then apply wax designed for headlights on them. teh cheap stuff like form walmart does NOT work very well at all.

2000+ grit will take a while to polish them, but it also lets you work on one area a bit longer and not have "pitting" or unevenness
