Default Setting the timing

I recently put a new dizzy on my 00 si. I set the timing using an old sears timing light. when I did this I lined up the red mark on the pully with the notch on the block. IS THIS CORRECT? It seems to be running right but I don't really want to get into boost until I'm sure.
