how would you go about gettin' a real jdm civic type r into the states?? i hear they cost like $24k and another $4-5k to get them in... but how do i go about doing that? i want one of the new civic type r's not the older ones!!

just buy it and ship it over. its best to have a company that imports cars to do it for you. but you wont be able to "federalize" it, ie make it dot legal. you're supposed to bring it over strictly for off road use. my suggestion: buy a hatch here, take off the vins, weld them to the ctr, then register it in your state. not exactly legal, but it could possibly get u a street legal jdm ctr

legal? not likely, but will pass for legal, but i see no problem with it as long as you are a good welder

how :ghey:.. i mean doing it and then having to weld this and that for it be legal.. imo get an 03 si, swap the engine (rsx-s :naughty: ), get the wheels and skirts, and viola...

yeah for 26k you can buy a deal deal left hand euro ctr. legalized and ready to drive. they also sell real deal lancers. search on the web.

When I was in Italy, I saw a real CTR (7th gen). It was the european model meaning it had all the CTR goodies, but was left-hand-drive.

Something to look into if you're serious. Also, Honda Tuning magazine featured the new HASport mounting kit for the 7th gen civics to put the K20 in perfectly. If you decide to go that route, I suggest you pic up the mag as they do a full tutorial on the install.

there's a place in florida, (forgot the link sorry) that imports lancer EVOs and CTR's over on the grey market. all street legal and ready for use on U.S. roads and highways.
