WTF: AC, heater, defroster stopped working
Today I got in my car to go to school and I noticed the lights on the buttons on my climate control weren't on. I checked my AC and it didn't work. The compressor and the pully still turn on, but no air blows out. I also noticed that my rear defroster didn't work either. Does anyone have any ideas??? Again, no air blows out (AC button pushed or not) and even my rear defroster doesn't work. Please help!!!
The fuse for the rear defroster, heater blower motor, and cooling fan relay keeps blowing. I replaced the relay but that didn't fix it. It will work for a little while, then blow again. I'm pretty concerned because my cooling fan isn't turning on. Does anyone have ANY ideas at all??? Please help.
I don't know the solution, but you can temporarily hard wire a manual switch for the cooling fan just so that your car won't overheat while you drive it -- just temporary until you find out what's really wrong. :dunno:
Good luck

for a temp solution, cut the positive wire, and wirer it directly to the pos. of the battery, it will alaways be on, but you wont worry about overheating until you get the problem fixed.

I guess I could do a manual switch for the fan for now, but I still would like to find the source of the problem. I know I would rather work on an engine any day than deal with an electrical problem (especially finding a short). Thanks for the suggestion. I anyone else has any ideas please let me know.
