92 civic si help
hi i just bought a 92 civic si it has a b18b1 and gsr tranny couple of questions i have is about where does the thing red line the speedo reads about 10 miles quicker than actual is that because of the swap? would an ls ecu make the car run better? i have a fueal air gague that i thought was broke because it always read rich but now i think its right it back fires is there any way to fix that and any input about the car would be great! the car i think is close to fubar but a buddy says tears blood and sweat may be this cars only hope please help

Yes, if you don't have one, the LS ecu is a must. That's almost certainly why the car isn't running so well. I believe redline is about 7k.
A/F guages (the kind with the little lights) are pretty much useless, so I wouldn't worry too much about what it says.
If your speedo is off, it's probably because of tire/wheel size. A swap shouldn't change your speedo reading.

Unless perhaps the VSS from the civic is being used on the GSR tranny (might fit fine, not sure) and perhaps it's calibrated differently. It might not matter, that might not be the issue regardless, just throwing it out there.
White_n_slow is right about the redline, 6800 to be exact. Not sure about fuel cutoff, but I'd bet it's lower than that of the D16z6 that came in the '92 Si.

I had 16 inch rims on mine and my stupid ass friend whop had the car before me put low-pro tires on and mine was reading about 7 MPH off on my 93 dx sedan. I have 205/50/16 on it now and my mileage is perfect. I would reccomend a bit smaller on the width because my tires didn't quite clear the rear fender wells with all stock suspecnsion.

ok the throtle position sensor is unpluged and the car runs fine but when i plug it in and get on second gear it will do a speed up then die then pick back up and die aain wtf is up with that i thought things plugged in make car run better?
is that also an ecu problem? if so any one have an ls computer they wanna sell for cheap?
