aftermarket pw w/ EX door panels in Si
i got a 93 Si and i want pw but i dont want to swap the entire doors cuz i dont want to deal with repaintin the door. i really wanna stay away from swappin the EX guts in cuz its time consuming.
i want an aftermarket (due to easy installation) kit but hate the idea of havin a round knob coverin the stock crank.
i was wonderin if anyone here with a 5gen hatch/coupe has aftermarket powerwindows and EX door panels utilizing stock switches and retaining a factory look.
bottom line, aftermarket pw w/ EX door panels.
i search the forums and came up with this much to ask. supposely there was memeber here that did it but hes no longer here.
thanks for any help.

i thought si hatches came with power everything: window/lock/sunroof/mirror, i guess not?
or maybe they only put power everything in the 95 model, i :dunno:

That's what I'm doing. EX door panels with aftermarket power window and locks kits for my DX. The window kit would be the most expenisve I think coming it and around $300 (not sure if that's for both or one window). Also there's 2 kinds of kits, one breaks easier then the other, again not sure.
If you can't I can call my friend and ask him about it.

you should be able to do the ex door panels on the si door
my friend put 99 si power functions into his 96 dx
you need the wiring though
but then its all oem that way

I say just put the EX pannels on and be done with it, but if you must have an aftermarket kit, I hear Autolok is good.

The member that was doing the swap was Pinoyshadow. I know that he got a set of EX doors for a really good bargain, but he was in a similar dilemma. He just recently got his car painted and didn't want to swap the entire doors, just the wiring and panels. He had the stuff to do the swap, but I think that the labor would've been too dificult. Never did find out if he got it done. Hopefully he'll see this post and give a reply.

the panel and pw guts r two different things. i wanted to opt the route of doin a aftermarket pw conversion due to its easy installation and top it off with ex door panels for a factory look. if i do the ex oem pw kit, i have to swap the guts of the ex over. someone out there has to have this done before. thanks guys, if all else fails, ima find some ex doors to swap the guts.

I called up autolok and talked to a rep there and he said that i can get there power window and lock kit and run them using oem switches. I have the same thing as you in reality; 96 dx hatch and i have in my garage 99 si door panels with power lock and window switch. So as far as i know, yes you can use the oem switches to operate the aftermarket power windows
