Default 92 civic...idle adjustment???

Good morning all. the idle on my 92 Civic is low and erratic, where is the adjustment for this?

There's a couple of adjustments that can be made. I would start with the throttle cable.

Also, this acutally brings up a question: has it always idled low, or is this something new?

Usually a sudden idle change like you described can be caused by a clogged fuel filter. You may want to replace that if you haven't done it since you've owned the car. Your fuel pump could also be dying... just some other options to consider.

Thanks WestCoast, the idle just started running low/rough...I will change out the fuel filter anyways....as well as looking at the throttle cable.

BTW, it is cold out, could someone give me a heads up on the location of the filter?

NP man :thumbup:

the filter is a black canister looking thing located just off the center of the firewall at the top.

If you can't find it, I'll post a pic for you.

WC, thanks alot. I should be able to find the filter with your bit of help...I am just glad it is not under the car
