Default Annoying sounds coming from the suspension

To those with lowered cars using lowering springs and aftermarket shocks, what kind of noises does your suspension make when going over little bumps, cracks, and other crap on the road? I have Neuspeed Race on Koni Reds and the suspension usually makes thud or thumping noises (not much in the front, but alot in the rear) everytime I hit small bumps in the road...the noise obviously gets louder as the bumps become larger. Almost sounds like there's something lose in the back sometimes. The noise became much more apparent in the rear once I switched from stock shocks to the Konis. I can get real paranoid over these small things and just wanted to see if others out there were experiencing similar noises from their altered suspensions.

Get rid of the fatties in the back seat...:chuckles:

But seriously, there are some metal washers on the top of the struts in the strut mount. I've heard if they are bent or broken, the suspension will make sounds like that.

I have heard of this alot with coilover suspension. I don't have much of the noise, but come to think of it, I may have a bit. Sometimes with new, stiff struts, the struts and springs are not the same dampaning so there can be a noise, in the back especially because no weight back there.

Other than that, I would look at your trailing arms, and lower control arms for bends, or cracks.

i think any car thats lowered from the factory settings will make some sort of noise. ive gotten use to the squeaks and bumps that my car makes on the road. Just make sure those sounds youre hearing arent "bottoming out" sounds

Thanks for the input. My headunit was stolen recently (f*cking thieves :madfawk: ), so I've been listening to nothing but the sound of squeaks coming from my suspension for the past week which has been driving me crazy!! I've never really noticed them this much until now since I always had music on. Also, I know this is a dumb question, but how exactly does it sound like when you bottom out...is it like a very loud thump, bang or what? thanks
