My 92' civic is not doing too well. My car is stuck in 2nd gear even when the stick is in neurtal between gears. I'm still able to drive (take-off) in the gear, but it kills when I let the clutch out w/ out giving it any gas. Whats going on??? any solutions will be appreciated.

Get underneath the car and make sure the shift linkage is all hooked up ok. Can you shift up into 3rd or only second?

I"m thinking I might be low of tranny fluid. but yeah I can put it in 2nd - 5th gear.

Just drain and refill with Honda MTF.


Was there any problem with the clutch acting weird or is it just the shifter?

nah, the clutch felt like it was working just fine. Just the shifter was sticking. I'll find out next week though, cuz I'll be gone all wknd.

fixed the civic today, but my tranny level was extremely low. About 1/4 of a quart
