No Fuel but runs?
93 Civic 1.5 DX no mods
Alright to start, the car is completly stock. I'll start with all the symptoms, maybe someone can pick up on the problem as i'm stumped.
The car will normally run just fine when it's cold. But when it warms up and I turn the car off, and try to refire it, it will just sit there and crank and crank and turn over sometimes but immediately die like it's out of gas but I know it has a full tank. Then today it was doing this after being ran and when I turned the key over to start it would just click once and that's it. Not turn over, not run for just a second and die. Nothing. I was thinking grounds? I checked them all, they're fine. But given that it would act like it was out of gas when it would run for a brief second, I decided it had to be fuel. Couldn't test pressure because I was sitting in a walmart parking lot. And becauase I tried everything I could to get it to flood to see if it was getting fuel and couldn't smell gas no matter what I did. So my wife came to the rescue and I hit the parts store. Changed the pump, filter and igniter. Kind of eliminates all problems...I also picked up a spark tester. ( I cracked the igniter a while back trying to get the seized rotor off so I thought why not?)
I installed the new pump and filter. Cracked the lines before and after the filter to see if it was getting any pressure at all. Nothing. I tested spark and it seems very weak.
The car will start off ether and stay running but as soon as I kill it, it just turns over and over, no fuel. After it ran on ether, I killed it and tried to refire, not without ether.
I'm thinking main relay as it controls the fuel pump on the car? Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. I'm stumped. Thanks.

wait, wait,
check this first before changing the main relay, remove the fuel cap, have someone turn the key to the on position and stick your ear to the fuel filler and listen if the pump is working as the keey is turned to the on position.. you should hear a buzzing sound for at least 2 seconds while the key is turned on (do not crank the engine) . if you hear the buzzing noise, your pump is working.
but then again, your problem could be as simple as a clogged fuel filter, clogged injectors (not common), clogged fuel lines.
or they could be right, main rellay

so did you confirm that the pump works on your car?
im just worried coz what i know is everything is tied up to your main relay besides the fuel pump. if the main relay is out, then i dont think your car will fire up either.
but you are able to run it on remote fuel.
i dont think the problem is the main relay. whatever it is, its on the fuel side.
