my exhaust can be loud and annoying sometimes.. its quieter than my old one interior wise on the freeway.. but its still loud.. how well should a no restriction resonator quiet that down? and how much are these with installation would you estimate?

 

my friend put a 22 inch resonator on his prelude, cost of resonator and labor was 70 bukks, it quiet it down quite a bit and sounded more deep and better, not that fart can crap.

 

how should they effect performance? i have custom mandrel bent 2.25" piping now straight catback to a magnaflow straight through muffler...

 

a resonator should affect perfermance. If it does it should be farely minimal.

 

can can you even buy a resonator , been trying to look for one ? muffler shops ?

 

from what i understand you just go in and ask them to resonate your exhaust.. tell what it is and what not and that you just want it quiter with minimal effect on performance.. ithink they have straight through design resonators or something.. :dunno:

 

another name for resonator is glass pack. i seen kragen sell as cherry bomb glass pack. i doubt it affects performance. its straight thru but with a fiberglass screen pack inside, hence why its bigger then the piping, to drone some of the sound down, thus makin it a little quieter.
