Default cracked cv boots!!

hi , i have a 98 civic ex, with 2 cracked badly cv boots, but not rib open yet, should i wait till it rib open first before replacing them or should i replace them now?

Replace them now because they won't last very long no matter how small the hole or crack is. I've been there so I know.

how much do them cost? should i bring it back to honda or just auto shop?

I got them for $17/each and did them myself. If you take out the driveaxle make sure you replace the seal, I forgot too...

If you're just going to replace the boot, do it now. If you're going to change the axle, "roll that mutha ****a till the wheels fall off..."

If your inexperienced or just don't have the proper tools, it's gonna cost you around $150-$225 per axle (cheaper for one boot, more for both). If it's the rear, get it done profesionally....I imagine your not an expert seein that your posting this question so don't mess around or it's gonna waste your time. an axle replaced will cost you much more. It's like $400 -$700 to have the entire thing replaced. And it won't take a long time to bend that bish....
