Default what to buy need help?

sup,
i just sold my ek coupe and i have around 5500$ to spend. i really want a jdm eg hatch but i dont think i can get the car and swap the motor for that much money. i was thinking about a 94 ls tegra and doing a jdm front end but still really confused so any ideas would be helpful. i love dsm's but had enough bad luck with them and i aint really a nissan guy so honda is about it for me thanx peace out.

why honda, u act like honda is the only affordable car

ever thought about a goin old school

get a old vr4, mr2, supra, or rx7

ex.

you can find a 3rd gen turbo supra out there for about 4500
with about 80k miles, very dependable car

240 hp stock
245 lbs of torque

and ohh yea RWD

sounds better than 130hp FWD civic if u ask me

just my 2 cents

all of these cars i have listed can be had within 5000 - 8000 dollars

If I had $5500, it would buy me a nice blown-engine series 4 Turbo II. RX-7, that is. With the leftover cash, I would buy a JDM series 5 Turbo II motor, have it rebuilt and street ported, then adapt it to the S4 body. Any leftover cash would go to a Haltech E6K and bolt-ons. Why? Because the RX-7 is a purist sports car, perfect weight balance, low center of gravity, front-midship engine layout, rear wheel drive, and of course a ROTARY ENGINE! Woo, go Rotary! Plus, if you think an exhaust system makes good extra power on a Honda, try it on a Mazda rotary car and it's gains will shame a piston engine... but that's just how the rotary works.

Anyway, you should be able to easily make an EG/B16 for $5500 and have cash left over for bolt-on goodies. Hondas are fun to play with and don't constantly beg you for gas money. That's why I still have my civic, it's just plain fun, even sitting on jackstands at the end of the driveway.

Well.. this is a Honda/Acura forum and maybe he likes the cars :dunno:

I say get an old 5th gen hatch and do a swap on it. I got a '92 LX sedan with a blown head gasket and some body damage for $100. You can find an old broken hatch.

Im just askin, why spend that money on a car that u start off at 130hp er so and have to throw alot of money into, to get over or close to 200hp? When if u go old school like i suggested u start off at 240 er around there. Yea weight is an issue, but most of them are RWD so it kinda evens out.

Just doesnt make sense to me, and if ur tellin me a honda looks better than a 3kgt then ur crazy :jawdrop:

Well, the Rotary is actually quite simple... basically two side plates, two rotor housings, two rotors, an eccentric shaft, and an intermediate plate... done. Well, that and about a million seals, side seals, multi-peice apex seals, corner seals, main coolant O-rings, etc

Fixing it is easy. Step 1, remove engine. Step 2, insert new bridgeported rebuilt engine. Done:naughty:

If you are interested, go to http://www.rx7club.com I post as Kai there too.
