Default How To Remove Heater Box

Car is a 99-00 Civic. How do I remove it? Also, when I removed the dash, there is this metal bar...Is this part of the car? Can it be removed? My number one concern is removing the heater box though.

Are you talking about the heater core, or the blend door assembly?

Its a PITA.

I did it on my 95 civic, different gen I know.

AT the time I was removing my dash, and thus I beleive the only way to get to it, is to remove the dash. But before you do that, revoe the glove box (whicih you have to do to remove the dash anyway) and see if you have access to the bolts that hold it in. When I did mine. Just remember, if it is like the 5th gen civics, the A/C lines run into that too, so you will have to drain your A/C, and eventually have it refilled. not fun, and it'll gots you more than $100 to completly refill.

I just got it removed. I'm doing a 99-00 climate control conversion in my 96 hatch. I basically have everything already. Just need to figure out how to put it all together. ManInCamo, may I ask why you had to take it out? BTW, anyone know any place in SoCal that is VERY good with wiring all this stuff together? I don't feel like having nothing work in my car.

Well I was pulling the whole dash anyway at the time.

regardless, I needed to get to the vent box gizmo, and they were all overlapping, so i couldn't get one off, without take the heater core off, or the the blower gizmo.
