Default What the hell? Code question.

I was driving home from my new job today, and my check engine light came on. When I got home, I jumped the connectors, and it said I was throwing an 89....I checked it again, and it was the same thing. What the heck is that? Any place I checked didn't have a code 89 listed. Anyone know what it means?

ok..thanks for the help. I straightened it out though. I got gas in Jersey the other day, and its state law that you can't pump your own gas there. The dumb schmuck that did it for me didn't put my gas cap on tight at all. I tightened the cap up, reset my ecu, and the light went off. Hopefully that was it. Thanks for the help.
