Volvo for example r just a piece of s-h-i-t without Turbo, the same thing for Saab, and many cars...MB cant make good performance without Kompressor and Audi needs to Turbocharge their cars too...BMW needs to make BIG cylindervolumes like the BMW 325, or the 328 2.8Litres and 6Cyl to get 192HP...the Integra got 1.8 and 190hp....bmw 2.8 and 190hp....thats difference...so many cars needs alot of things to get performance...but Honda makes it without any Turbo, or bigger Cylindervolumes...Just VTEC

But also those cars you mentioned are heavier and have more torque, alot of the older car buyers (which buys most of those cars) do not want to shift at 7000-8000rpms to extract the full power of a low displacement honda engine.

And I believe the 02 BMW M3 makes over 100hp per liter and redlines at 7800-8000rpms (with the help of VANOS).

if honda ever made a V8, the car would be fast as fu@k! working at lexus and driving around LS 430's and GS 430's all the time, ive come to the conclusion that japanese V8's kick ass. those cars are quick as hell. but honda doesn't really need the V8. if they ever produced one, it would probably be made to prove that they can produce a somewhat efficient V8.

same as already stated, they want to keep relialibility, economy, they can build high hp pre liter, and they have vtec. they dont need turbos to compensate, and its not their target market.
