Default Engine SWAP Questions

I am in a bit of a dilemma. I have a 99 honda civic ex auto - all stock. I want to get more power, but i don't which way to go:

turbo, supercharger, or an engine swap.

i'm not a hardcore racer nor do i plan to be, but I am stuck with this car pretty much for at least the next 5 years. I want to get more power to do occasional street racing for fun, or just floor it to have fun. I also want to do an auto - manual tranny sway, but wondering if this worth it.

Based on my wants and driving habits, can anyone give me some advice on which way to go??

Also, anyone know the quality of work Holeshot Racing does??

Thanks a whole bunch

well since your in cali you can't go with a JDM motor (if you want to stay legal that is) also you have to get a motor from a 99 model year car or newer, should you decide to swap. there are a lot of threads about this already. try a search.

Your best bet would be to swap a 96-00 JDM b16a2 170hp or 99-00 USDM b16a2 160 hp motor which comes w/ a manual tranny. You can find these motors for around $2,300-$2,900. If you have more money the b18c 180hp is you next step up for around $3,300-$3,700. Just remember if you do a manual tranny motor swap then you will need the interior civic pieces and add a clutch pedal, but it would be well worth it!

I would sell your car and get a manual. They should be cheaper anyways.
If that's not an option, go H22.

Hehe, yea... I'm kind of wondering if I should have done that in the first place also...

Doing an auto to manual swap isn't hard. But I've got to ask, why are you stuck with any car? Sell it, and get something less expensive so you have more to sink into it...
