Hey i got a buddy with a 93 civic with a b18 engine and a b20 head when he accelerates his cluster dims and flickers is it his alternator? If not what is it and how hard is it to fix?

 

Take a look at all the grounds in the engine bay first just to be sure they're all tight/clean, but before you throw a new alt. in there I'd check what it's putting out with a volt-ohm meter, at idle, sustained partial throttle (to look for fluctuation), and when blipping the throttle.
