I was inspecting the ignition rotor on my stock 95 EX coupe and i was wondering how the hell you replace the darned thing. anybody got instructions on how to do so, i have to replace it as my cap and rotor are on their way out.

 

All you do is take off the distrubutor cap, take off some kind of shield thing and there is a screw on the rotor, just undo that and pull it out.

 

you mean the black plastic shielding that covers part of the assembly?

there's one screw that faces up when the rotor is in its lowest position - it's bronzish - whats that for?

 

#11 is the screw you speak of, right?

 

Yes 11. Maybe urs doesn't have the sheild, my car is older.

 

that screw, #11 isnt coming off too easily. has anybody else done this on a D-series engine?

 

I also have a question for the cap and rotor install: do you have to turn the crank to a certain position before putting everything back together, and if so, how would I do that? Are there other things to worry about when putting the rotor and cap back on? Thanks!
