Installing a Tach

I just bought a 1992 Civic DX hatch and it has no tach. i was wondering how do i go about putting in a custom tach, or would it be better to swap a gauge cluster...?

For about the same amount of money, you can find an EX/Si cluster and swap that in. I would rather do that than have an external tachometer.
