Default GSR VS CTR or ITR

In a 97 Civic Hatch. What would you go with? I'm probably going to get one of the above but I'm in the process of being broke because of Christmas, but after Christmas it should take me no more then 6 months to get a new motor. What would you guys prefer in a 97 civic hatch?

with proper tuning and some upgrades, a GS-R motor (b18c1) can be just as strong as a ITR motor (b18c5), and they're a lot cheaper.

I would take a B18C1/B16B/B18C-R block and sleeve it to 84mm and run a B18B crank and B18B rods which would yield 2L of displacement. Basically a B20/VTEC without the oiling or structural integrity problems.

personally i chose the CTR because of it's simplicity, but if you have patience and knowledge do whatever inspyral tells you to lol

R motors are overpriced if you're going to be building the thing.

If you're going to just bolt the thing in though with i/h/e get a B18C5.

I agree they are way over priced and I would be planning on building a b18c5 motor but supposedly the gsr motor is just as good if you tune it properly and it's a lot less expensive.

So you think a b20 vtec then? That's like a honda crv motor isn't it how much hp does the b20 vtec motor put out? And how much do they go for usually?
