i have 97 Civic Ex with 94 Integra GSr motor. I have a question about CKP sensor. I installed obd2 oil pump and ckp sensor and i wired it up and iam still getting check light. Currently i bypassed ckp sensor by connecting it to cam position sensor and iam not getting check engine light but when i push the car iam getting black smoke out muffler (the car seems to be running rich) and iam thinking its because of the ckp sensor.
? When converting obd1 to obd2 gsr do i need obd2 gsr si crank timing belt gear in order for ckp to work. I know ckp should pulse 12 times a revolution but iam not sure if it uses crank gear to pick up the pulses. Any help apreciated
