Default Took off airbox.......

i didnt actually do it, but one of my good friends has an integra and her boyfriend took of her aidbox. to me it seems that it would suck in alot of **** including water, dirt, bla bla bla. maybe im thinking of it wrong, im not to sure what exactly the "airbox" includes. but i was thinking its that whole box including the filter and everything down to the plastic piping. if that is correct, couldnt she suck **** up and blow her engine?

nah... the engine will be fine... and will make a loud noise when accerating. other than that... the filter might get dirty more quickly... and it'll end up sucking up more hot air instead of the slightly cooler air with the airbox top on.

The air box is sealed and sucks air from behind the wheelwell liner and the filter is mounted in the engine bay(cooler air but limited flow).
Short intakes suck air from the engine bay(better air flow but hotter air).
Cold air intakes have the filter mounted behind the wheel well liner(good flow and colder air) but can suck in water if driven tough a large puddle.

A safe idea is to run a short intake(air filter mounted in the engine bay) with a hose to supply cooler air from outside the engine bay(fender or fnt. bumper).

Hope this helps.
