Default VTEC question

Is it bad to drive a VTEC equipped motor, with a non vtec ecu. My buddy is waiting for his p28 ecu till monday and needs to drive the car. Its a cx hatch with a 97 ex motor. Just gotta know if it will run. thanks

no...just use the non vtec ecu...I do it, it works fine.
