Default 1993 honda civic axle

hello,

I was wondering if anyone can help me out. My axle poped out of my tranny as i was driving my car is drop someone told me it was probaly cause i hit somthing hard. Well n-e-ways im trying to but the axle back and it seems it dosent want to lock good. The axle locks but if i pull the axle towards me with a lil pressure it comes loose. My question is, IS this normal? if not what can i do.

Help

From what I understand they pull out fairly easily. I would put it back in anf make sure it locks in. If it comes out again the only thing you can do is buy a new axle. They aren't to expensive they run about $80.

Remove the axel and examine it to make sure the joints are not lock/sieze first. If good, reinstall. There is a excellent how to in the How-To forum for axel replacement.

Check the condition of the lock ring if there is one at the end of the shaft that inserts into the tranny. If it's damaged then just replace it with a new ring. Oh and make sure the ring faces downward when installing it.

this is the correct answer. There is no reason to replace the axle over this. The lock ring is the issue here.

I think you aren't pushing it in till it locks.
