car washing question - hot water
whoa whoa, just cause i'm canadian doesn't mean i live in an igloo now... and my car will freeze into an block of ice as i'm washing it..... actaully once, i was washing my car and the water started to freeze up as i was soaping it up....
I repeat just becareful how hot the water is and where you use it. Take a glass and put it in the freezer for about 2 hours and dump it a tub of hot water and see what happens.

the funny thing is i remember my dad just dumping a bucket of hot hot water from the tap over his windshield in the icy mornings to instantly defrost his windshield... it never shattered... but it was an old old car...

you're supposed to only use cool water to wash your car. warm water that's been thru a water heater has a lot of sediment and minreals in it from the heating elements (the same reason why you're not supposed to drink hot water out of the tap.) the water is "hard" and will leave water spots if you dont dry your car fast enough
