The paint (black) on my wiper arms is all chipping off and what not.. what would be the best way to redo them and have them last??

 

I painted mine with the flat black trim paint, and they turned out good.

 

well i need em flat black.. i mean what would be the best procedure with sanding it to priming to paint to sealer or whatever.. any1?

 

I just roughed up the paint with sandpaper and sprayed flat black over it. Still looks good 2 years later.

 

i use High Temp BBQ Grille paint, its flat black and works good.

 

I cleaned mine with alcohol, then smooth sanded it.... put some good primer on it, painted it my Body color, then finished off with ALOT of clear coats. They've lasted 3 winters so far with no problems.

 

hmm ok.. what should i use to sand? i used just whatever sand paper i could find around my house when i did my heat shield.. but after sanding it and cleaning it, the paint liked to seperate in spots and even though its 1500 degree paint its been chipping on some places... thx

 

i used paint stripper spray in a can....took off all the old black crap. then i used regular flat black, and painted them..the look alot better..did it a couple months ago, still fine.

 

paint stripper spray.. where can i get that at? any better brands than others?

so no need to prime then paint or anything like that? for a flat black look

 

i used some high temp flat black paint i had lying around, didnt rough it up or anything, just a few light coats and it looked like new

just remember to take the wiper arms off first
