Default Critical: need Help Honda Civic 92

Ok here is the scoop. I have a 1992 Honda Civic Cx hatch. It was running fine about a month ago. I began to put my stereo since the old one was stolen. I didn’t finish since I didn’t have a test light. I wanted to start my car but it didn’t. At first I thought it was the Distributor so I bought a rebuild one. It was very expensive. I put the rebuild distributor but it still didn’t work. So I ask my step father and he suggested that it might have been the computer, that failed and then he said it might have been the Main Assembly Relay and it failed again. The car feels and it sounds like it wants to start but I does not. Can any one tell me what might be the problem or help me out solve the problem???????????

PS the engine light is on

Does it crank over? What wires did you disturb to install the stereo? Check the 60Amp fuse in the underhood fuse box, you may have shorted it out.
