glove compartment rattles

Default glove compartment rattles

I have a 1995 civic ex and I cant stand that my glove compartment rattles. Has this happend to anyone else? And does anyone know how to fix it?

Hey mine is doing that too. at first I thought it was something I placed inside the compartment, but it wasn't. I am trying to find another on ebay, but there aren't that many. I think that is the only solution.

To my knowledge there are two bolts the hold it in place, make sure those are tight.. if they are and it is still raddling, it might be the compartment bumping against the car...maybe line electrial tape to cushion it.. seems more logical than to by a brand new glove box. Good luck.

make sure the screw holding the latch are tight. Other than that:dunno:

I had the same problem in my 95 si. I took the glove box out and checked to see if any screws were loose and all were tight. The noise was coming from the two screws on the left hinge were rubbing up a against a metal pipe or bar that is directly behind them. I just put a piece of rubber tape on the pole and now it is as good as new.

Congratulations....you own a Civic. Get used to the rattling as you will find more and more things in your car will begin to rattle.

I just turn the stero up louder so i do not here them little rattels.
