scary moment when driving
i was entering a freeway on ramp at about 60 mph today when i hit a bump, all of a sudden it was like my rear end just scooted over about a foot in the opposite direction of the turn. i dont think it was oversteer because i wasnt sliding around, i had 100% traction at all 4 corners, it just . . . .pivoted.
what do you think happened?
my current set up
98 civic coupe ex
h&r sports
15" wheels 195-55-15 kumho 712s

hahahaha oh this happened to me but i knew it was coming. there was like a 30 degree corner off this down hill turn from school and it was a wet day and i know my tires don't grip well on wet pavement so i downshifted and took the corner at like 60-80 kmh and my car was on the edge of slipping but the exit was really bumpy so everytime it went over a bump my car slide out a bit more. its fun if you know its coming.
Happens to me when I autocross
And I want to do that
And I want to do that

When I had my old car I did the same thing, it was raining and I drove through a turn that had a bump like that and I took my foot off the gas and I spun out.
I was told to keep your foot on the gas when that happens, because the rear wheels loose traction, and when you take the foot off the gas it makes it worse, if you keep it on the gas it pushes the front wheels straight which will keep the car straight... or something like that.

Yes to pull out of an oversteer situation you press down on the gas more. A common thing, but most people don't do and make the situation worse by stepping on the brakes harder.
This is something that should be tried on a closed course like an autocross. It's something that doesn't come naturally and has taken me a bit of time to force myself to do instead of slamming on the brakes
