hey everyone, I'm new to this site and i have a question. Ok here it is, i have a 97 civic HX (D16Y5) which sucks!!! so I'm planing on swapping out the motor to the D16Y8. Can i use the engine harness from the EX engine and use it on my HX civic engine bay?? or the connectors are different?

If you have the harness for both, and the ECU for the engine you're installing, you can make it work.

 

well i know i can make it work but i wondering if i the EX engine harness will plug up to my HX civic engine harness

 

you wont plug the ex harness into the hx harness, you'll remove the hx harness and swap it for the ex harness.

yeep. only the EG and DC tegs had two peice harness assemblies. The EK chassis uses a one peice. So you would be pulling and replacing.

 

sorry thats what i was trying to say if the EX engine harness will connect with the firewall harness in my HX civic

 

i found a 92 to 95 civic EX harness will that work on my 97 civic??
