I'd recommend applying adhesion promotor too to help the paint stick. They have spray cans of it at autozone for $4.

For flat black? All you have to do is sand her over once or twice with any damn sandpaper you got. Wipe it clean, adhesion promoter, flat black paint. It's going to be black so it doesn't have to be all cool looking.

I think putting in home depot mesh looks even chaper than painting the slats on the stock one. Just get a whole real SI grill, that's what i did. I heard some of the aftermarket si/ctr ones don't fit right.

Mine fit fine. I have replica CTR and Mugen grills. Both fit like stock at 100x less the price.

I just want to keep mine stock though...I don't want mesh. I'm just gonna repaint the stock slats black so that they're aren't all faded and ugly like they are now
