Yo, I'd loose the fan if I were you (blocking airflow to the core), the intercooler itself should be fine. Your probaly not going to be runnin to much boost, what 8-10psi max.

I think the fan would have been a good thing. It's wired to be on all the time and I didn't want heatsoak when idling. I have an air temperature gauge plumbed into the charge pipe. I was going to do some experiments with it to see actual results.

Well, now that I found a great deal on a XS-Engineering intercooler, the DSM side mount comes off and into storage for my upcoming junkyard turbo setup.

I pretty sure it's from a 1G DSM because it *looked* like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1873651849

Except mine is cleaner than that ...
