Default 99 Civic Lx failed emissions, cracked exhaust manifold

Just a few days ago, I brought my car to take the emissions test and it failed. On the emissions report, the error P0420 Catalyst System Below Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1) showed up. I brought it to the shop and the mechanic recommended me to replace the O2 sensor. When he opened the hood, he spotted that the exhaust manifold was cracked. He told me before replacing the O2 sensor I must replace the exhaust manifold first. He told me it would cost about $700 part + labor.

Is it possible for me to replace the exhaust manifold with an aftermarket one? I looked online and found this one.

Would an aftermarket one be bad?

Thanks!

If its a direct replacement its fine. Another option is to look in the junk yard or the parts classified section on this site. Maybe you can even get a used one for like $50. Good luck.

check one of the past threads about the cracked mani's with the cats in them. I think Honda was replacing them for next to nothing.

or you can just have a muffler shop weld the manifold. 700 bucks.?? I think someones tryin to take you for a ride. should be 80-100 for an O2 sensor.

call Honda care. There is an extended warranty on the manifold.
