Default How low should i go? Lowering Springs

i have some skunk2 coilovers right now...and im not happy with them. i want to get some lowering springs so the car will be level on all for struts. i have some skunk2 shocks...what kind of springs should i get to go along with these? and how low should i lower it? i think the legal limit on a lowered car is 23 inches. but i cant find anything on how high the factor springs are. so how many inches should i lower it to keep it legal?

why are you worrying about the legal limit??

You should be worrying about how low can you go before your tires start rubbing or touching the wheel well!!

Thats my 2 cents

I'd say about 2 inches before the tires and the wheel well start having unpleasant meetings... but thats just me

i live in sacramento...having a lowered car is not very popular to the cops...ive gotten pulled over twice on the same street, same corner within 15 mins of each other. i was going to pick up some chicken wings from wingstop. got pulled over once going to the place and another coming back. just my luck i guess. i was a half inch too low, but they let me go that night. i hate tickets and trying to avoid another.

so i dont want to go too low...plus i dont want to be scraping the bottom of the car all the time like other people. just not cool in my book. my coilovers are set at the right height right now. still looks low enough. but like i said theyre not perfect. so how many inches should i lower it to have it at 23 inches? meaning from the ground up to the mark on the headlights.

im not a big fan of dumping a car... just an inch or inch and a half with some properly mated wheels and tires should make it look great

Umm then raise it back up so you don't get pulled over - duh.

1st thing you need to do is measure each corner to figure out how much to raise each corner to level out the car.

Then set the car back down and measure again with your weight in the driver's seat and measure one more time. you want to get each corner without about 1-2mm.

Then get an alignment.

I have a local friend here that hit a bump on the freeway in his lowered integra. the tire rubed the top of the fender and shreded off the top layer of rubber. he did a 360 and hit the center divider. I think his car was too low. He had some nice 17" low profile rims with low pros on them!
