ah yes, i gotcha, i wasn't thinking. i'm thinking of hte new civics. oops. well still and VTEC wouldn't be felt on a SOHC car, right? i've never really felt one like i did on the K20A2 or the B series. the 00 civic ex was never really performance minded anyways. the GSR is highly perofrmance minded. eh well i gotcha.

But usually the first stage kicks in at 4400 rpm, then the secondaries open up at 6100 or somewhere around there. But yes, there is two stage vtec on a GSR.

:stupid: , why don't you learn what youre talkin about before you respond.
oh im sorry mc integra..you know everything...and there isnt a dual stage vtec in the b18c1.....the only one i know of is the d15b.

But the new si's are fuel effiecent minded, so there ivtec is not that noticable, but the rsx is. So even with the new ivtec is variable in being noticable or not. Get what i'm saying or am I just being confusing? Oh well, I'm sure somebody else will explain it better.

I never said I did know everything, but I do know about my car. I have been on this forum for awhile and usually don't answer questions unless I for sure know the answer. And in this thread, you were telling him the wrong answer and actin like you knew your sh!t, which you didn't. So I replied with the correct information. SO :madfawk: .

Yes there is, just wait someone else will back me on this.

you are uberly

there sure is a dual stage VTEC in the B18C.

VTEC Engagement-Intake: 4400rpm, Exhaust: 5800rpm
Induction System Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) with dual-stage intake manifold

Using a unique arrangement of three cam lobes and three corresponding rocker arms for each pair of valves, the VTEC system can alter not just valve lift, but valve timing as well in response to engine load and driver demand. VTEC operates on intake as well as exhaust valves.

The crossover point between nominal valve lift and high valve lift occurs at 4400 rpm. As the engine continues to rev beyond that point, another system comes into operation - the dual stage intake manifold. At 5800 rpm, a second intake runner in the dual stage manifold opens to fully exploit the additional breathing potential of VTEC. Thanks to these two complementary systems, the GS-R engine has an almost flat torque curve from 2500 rpm up to 7200 rpm.

WELL I THINK I:VE AWNSERED THE QUESTION!
END!

I know the B18c1 has a dual stage intake manifold for improved low end torque
