Default condensor hoses - does coolant run thru them?

Does radiator fluid flow through the front condensor hose (the one with a "H" on the blue cap)?

b/c I have a radiator leak and the area where you have metal on rubber on that hose seems to be seeping radiator fluid...

thanks!

Your condenser does not have coolant in it, it has refridgerant, which is mostly a gas. The "H" stands for high pressure. There are 2 condenser hoses, one for high pressure and one for low.

Ok thanks makes sense. Just have some greenish coolant-like stuff (even smells like it) collecting around that hose and a small (1" drop) in my radiator fluid level. weird.

Does your AC work well? Sometimes, when you recharge your AC, and your condenser has a leak, they put "stop leak" stuff into it. It could leak just a little, it looks like green bubbly slime.

Hmmm it does look a little like green bubbly slime...but if definitely smells like coolant. the a/c actually works very well, never recharged it in the 2 years and 40K I've owned the car.

I think I'll just swap a new radiator in anyway, at 263K on the original its gotta be time if not now then very soon.

thanks
