Default Pillow mounts? who has them?

for those of you that are riding on coilover systems... did you guys buy the pillow mount to go with it? i also heard that using the pillow mount may make ur ride feel harder. so my friend recommended me to get the suspension without pillow mount and use my stock pillow mount instead. what do you guys think?

here is the suspension i will be picking up:
TANABE SUSTEC PRO S-S (with pillow mount or without???)

if without pillow mount... can anyone tell me what part numbers i would need if i were to buy a new set of stock pillow mounts for my car? and how to fit it on? please let me know soon, cuz i'll be picking up the suspensions today. thanks.

*edit* i found the parts i think i would need... are these it? please advise...

I personally would not get the pillow ball mount. It's really not worth it for a street car.

yea i have thought about that too... but it will easier to install if it came with a pillow mount... all i had to to is just remove my stock, and drop in the coilovers. but if i were to install it with my stock pillow mount... which parts do i need???

Your stock upper mounts are not pillow mounts. Pillow, or pillowball mounts are usually aluminum upper mounts in which the upper bushing is replaced with a spherical bearing. It translates into less suspension deflection and a generally tighter feel over the stock rubber bushings. You can run the TEIN setup with your stock upper mounts, and it should be fine. You just remove them from your stock dampers and reinstall them on the TEIN units. The TEIN set may or may not come with new urethane or hard rubber bushings for the upper mounts. If not, you can re-use your stock ones, although they may be a bit soft. There's no need to buy new stock upper mounts. Just compress the stock springs and re-use the stock upper mounts.

it's cheaper... depending on which tien ur comparing to. there is a special deal going on for tanabe sustec pro ss. macklin industries will no longer be distributing the tanabe.. therefore, only certain performance shops are dumping their inventory. i just purchased mine today, will arrive next monday, and installed on saturday. here is the down low on the price:

WHERE: BOZZ PERFORMANCE
PHONE: 510-657-4393
CONTACT: KENRIC (OWNER)
E-MAIL: BozzPower@aol.com
ADDRESS: 45499 INDUSTRIAL PLACE, UNIT # 1
FREMONT, CA 94538
PARTS: TANABE SUSTEC PRO SS
PRICE: $850 (WITHOUT PILLOW MOUNT)
PILLOW MOUNT: $375 EXTRA
INSTALLATION: $50
PAYMENT: PAY CASH... IT'S $850 FLAT.

i'm getting them to install it, cuz i figure, for $50 extra... saves me the time to go to pep boys to get the tools needed. so, there's the break down. that's why i was asking for the pillow mount question. they have application for all honda's... so if you want in on this limited offer go soon.

so for the bushings... they will be using my stock ones... so is there an aftermarket brand that i can buy for them to use? let me know thanks.

Yeah!.... I heard that story too. They are going to flood the market with Tannabe stuff VERY VERY cheap. Tannabe plans to expand to the US by opening an office/distributor here...but they didnt let Mackin Industries know. So now Mackin is going to sell everything dirt cheap.

yup... so i've called other places like modacar, and other local performance shop... and they are still quoting me like $1300 without pillow mount. plus my friend said it's a great deal so i took it. the way i figure it... if i had gotten koni yellow + GC... it would be around that price range... so might as well go for it. well.. that's my christmas present for myself.... FOR NOW!!! lol...

future plans... in the near future that is...
Si sway bar
Front and Rear lower tie bars... (and yeah the cusco is beefy.. but it will set really low especially on lowered cars, so gotta find another brand.)
JDM side markers
OEM fog lights

christmas presents from my boys...
skunk2 short shifter
JDM mirrors (the one that is made in taiwan... hehe)
plus free paint job on the mirrors from Seoul Auto Body in Fremont, CA.
