i think n20 is a pretty unstable bond, whcih makes it break apart and kaboom. ill ask the little lady, shes a chemist.

the state board of HAZMAT wouldn't let me ship mosquito coils cuz they claimed they were flammable.

right... i'd like to think i have a decent understanding of chemistry. nos is not flammable. the reason it gives you more power is because it freezes the air going into your engine. if you mix it with fuel, it would be the fuel thats burning, not the nos. oxygen by itself is extremely unstable and when introduced into "air" it combusts. so i dunno how effective a shot of straight o2 would be.

"When the nitrous oxide is heated to approximately 572F (on compression stroke), it breaks down and release extra oxygen"

KABOOM.

anybody who wants to go on to say that water doesnt have the ability to be flammable should take a gander at the hindenberg crash...

and the components of salt are a scary mix too.

i think, in the right atmosphere you could break n2o down and then it could spark.

you said it yourself: "breaks down and release extra oxygen"
The N2O ion will separate leaving 2 Nitrogen atoms and 1 Oxygen atom. The one oxygen atom will then "kaboom", however, at that time its only oxygen and no longer "Nawwwzz"
Don't question mah authoritah, I'm to University of Sciences in Philadephia for my doctorate in Pharmacy.

my point is this, and its simple.

while i agree that Nitrous Oxide is not dangerous in itself, you are not accounting on the fact that most riceboys dont have respect for something as simple as a traffic law, much less the inherit explosive nature of this material. While i agree that in itself N20 is probably not dangerous, it can potentially cause a lot of damage and should not be taken lightly.

I.e.: dont drive around with constant pressure on fuel lines that run through your cabin.

You know that Propane, (LP/Natural Gas) is only explosive at certain mixture levels, at a certain point it can mix so thick in air that it isnt explosive, but theres not a person on this board that would disagree that LP is gd dangerous.

i think we've gotten too far off topic and never addressed why one would need to have the bottle open for such a long period of time.

i think he wants to hit it whenever, rather than have to setup to hit it...dude wants a james bond trigger at all times.

the fact is, the bottle is made for constant stress, the injectors and lines and regulators are NOT.
