im changing my oil today and my tranny oil...what else should i do to prepare my car? also whats better to run on, my 16s or the steelies?

 

whichever rims are lighter and have the better tires. check tire pressure?

 

which track? 1/4 mile? Road? Autocross?

 

Also check coolant levels. You may even want to advance your timing a bit. I'd clean plugs too.

 

Definitely whichever tires give you more traction... your steelies might be lighter, but it won't do jack if the tires are crap.

is it getting cool yet. if it's cool and humidity is low. you're in luck. 15.3 this time on your sohc as oppose to 15.8

they weigh about the same..give or take a pound or so...

my timing is already advanced.


the highest at the pump is 93 oct. im probably gonna get a gallon or so at the airport i think its 112 oct. then ill put 93 in.


its about a 100mile drive....so i think im only gonna put in about 3/4 of a tank. to get me there and home.


the stellies have crappy tires, on my c8s i got falken ziexs...so both suck

That's not exactly ideal if his car is setup (stock or whatever) for say... 92 Octane.

Running a higher octane will just make his car run inefficiently.


Now, if his car is designed (modded to, of course) to run best on lke 110 Octane or whatever, by all means run 110.
