Dyno'd the turd
meh...

They were having a dyno day at a local speed shop yesterday. I still haven't thrown any timing at it and I've been having some boost issues lately. But I figured what the hell. My boost issues go back to when I went to the track a few weeks ago. The car's built for 25psi, but when I'd get up in boost it'd just fall on it's face. I thought it was weak ignition and blowing the spark out. So I bumped it back and it seemed ok. What I finally figured out was my boost controller was set wrong. I was actually hitting my boost safety limit I set in crome. It was better when I took it to the dyno but the boost was still surging. It seemed wave between 18-23psi. So basically my setup was crap when I went and I embarrassed to even post this. The good news is I still made decent power all things considered and I'm getting the bugs worked out. But here's why I'm really posting this, it was at a mustang shop. Now I don't know about you guys but most of the mustang owners I know are dildos* who like to talk big but will never go to the track. So of course I got "here comes the rice
" Even the guys hooking it up made the crack "is that exhaust tip off a diesel truck?" I'm sure there were a lot of them I didn't hear. Basically it went like this...
pre-dyno

So even though I'm a little disappointed with my numbers it was worth every penny to see the looks on their faces. And the car sounded vicious on the dyno.
*not saying all mustang guys are dildos just most of the ones I know. the Brenspeed guys were just having fun and were actually pretty cool.
