hi, i have a 98 civic ex coupe, honda was adjusting my throttle cable today, I saw that guy was pulling the gas padel upward for some reason, but i don't know what he was doing, after that he start adjusting the cable. Now the gas padel is higher than what it used to be, it is now at the same height as the brake padel. He said that because the gas padel was bent and pushed downward, so he had to pull it back up. something like that. so should the gas padel has the same height as the brake padel? Also when just tap the padel, the rpm just to like 2k. is this normal?

Well you could have overtightened your throttle cable, just as easily as he bent your gas pedal, lol.

You should have a little play in your throttle, you don't want it 100% tight. So go re-adjust that and see if that helps.

I don't have a Civic but my gas pedal SURE as hell isnt level with my brake pedal. I kind of wish it was so I could heal-toe a little easier -- but car manufacturers (supposedly) put the gas pedal lower than the brake pedal to help avoid that.

I don't know if I believe that, but yeah; back to your question... its not suposed to be that high I don't think.

The cable can stretch with time,so my guess would be that he was checking for excess play in the pedel.
If the idle is still norm. then all should be good.

 

so how do i lower the padel? the throttle cable should be at the right tension. Just maybe he pulled up, is there any damages when he pull it up?

Never heard of a gas PADEL before

at first i thought it was just a single time mistake, and that was cool... but you obviously either have bad dislexia, don't know how to spell, or you really think its a padel instead of a PEDAL

 

Perhaps it's a paddle used to navigate lakes of gasoline
