still having trouble - vtec light

i was told by a friend who hooked up a vtec light in his car the exact wire to splice into. then u ground the light and have the light behind your gauge cluster, when the vtec comes on, power is sent to the vtec solonoid and the light comes on. something different and kindof neat.

No offense to anyone, but why would you want that? I mean, you can do whatever you want but can't you just hear it? You can even hear it a little on a SOHC engine … I'm just curious.

i own a 96 GSR with intake and i honestly cannot hear it. ive listened and listened but it really just sounds the same to me.

Dude, if you've got a GSR with an intake and you can't hear the VTEC kicking in, I'd seriously have the car looked at because maybe your VTEC isn't kicking in. On the DOHC Honda engine with intakes, the VTEC should be very apperent. I could hear my SOHC VTEC kick in no problem. You might want to check that out.
