i have a question on my factory paint...when i got my car brand new the paint had several spiderweb cracks in it ..about an inch around on each...it didnt really bother me so i didnt say anything then...well now its almost 3 years/36,000 miles later and ive waxed my car a couple of months ago for the first time ever and when i did this the wax went into the cracks and made them stand out white...and ive noticed the spot on the roof is flaking off...im not sure if its the clear coat or the actual paint but my question is.....can i take it back to the dealer and have them look at it or what can i do?..thanx for any help...i know i should have said something when i first got it or soon after but i didnth: @ -}--

 

Perhaps, you can try a mild polish or medium-cut polish/cleaner before you apply a wax.

 

is your car still under waranty? seems like somthing has impacted with the paint to cause it to crack, or the paint was defective to begin with.


i would take it to the dealer and see what they say, (they probably wont cover it if it isnt under waranty, and if you cant prove that it was a defect). if they dont do anything, you best bet is to bring it to a body shop to get it resprayed if you want to go that route.

 

i did use a polish before i waxed it but it didnt help any....it still is under warrenty for a bit longer im almost at 36,000 miles now..it was defective when i bought it...ill try and take it to the dealer and see what they say..hopefully i can get something done to it@ -}--
